Ingredients

  • 1 package Duncan Hines® Classic White Cake Mix
  • Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix package
  • 2 containers Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Classic Vanilla Frosting
  • 6 drops red food color
  • 4 drops blue food color
  • 8 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • Green, orange and red food colors
  • ¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted

Baking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place 16 paper liners in muffin pan(s).
  2. Prepare and Bake cake mix according to package directions with water, oil and eggs. Cool cupcakes completely on wire rack.
  3. Blend 1 container of frosting with red and blue food color.
  4. Spread frosting on each cupcake.
  5. Divide remaining container of frosting into 4 small bowls. Leave one bowl white and use food colors to tint remaining bowls, orange, green and red.
  6. Carefully separate sandwich cookies into halves. Decorate using frosting and melted chocolate. To make football, carefully trim a cookie half into football shape, using a small sharp knife.

even more moist cake

when i use a cake mix, i add a little bit of extra water to it and it turns out extra moist. i found out how to do it by accidentally adding to much water, and it turned out better than the other cake i did! (i added extra to a chocolate and the vanilla cake i was making didn't have extra water)


Baking with Extracts

Baking with Extracts

To retain the flavor of your extracts when baking, blend them into your butter, oleo, or other high fats ingredient. This will create an emulsion between the two and prevent flash off of your extract.
