Tips

How to Tell when Bread Dough is Ripe

How to Tell when Bread Dough is Ripe

Bread dough is ripe when it is elastic, the stickiness is gone, and the dough feels dry. If you shape your loaves when the dough is ripe, it will rise high and have better flavor.

Make your own cake flavor

Make your own cake flavor

Have you gone to your local grocer to pick up a flavored cake mix just to find out that this isn't the season for it or your store is out of it today? No worries. Duncan Hines carries 16 plus "Frosting Creations" packets that can be used to flavor their White Cake too. From Orange cream to Cherry Vanilla, Chocolates and Mints, I have successfully flavored many cakes. Just mix the flavor packet into your white cake batter and it's done. Add two packets to pack a real whallop of flavor too.
