You Will Need

  • For Fudgy Brownies:
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1/4 Cup Oil
  • Cake-Like Brownies
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp Water
  • 1/3 Cup Oil

Pan Size / Bake Time

  • 8" x 8": 35-38 minutes
  • 9" x 9": 30-33 minutes
  • Makes 16 brownies.

Baking Instructions

  1. PREHEAT oven to 350°F for glass or metal pan, 325°F for dark or non-stick pan*. GREASE bottom of pan.
  2. EMPTY brownie mix, egg, oil and water in large bowl. STIR until well blended (about 50 strokes). SPREAD into greased pan. DRIZZLE the caramel in lines across the pan. Using the tip of a knife, drag it through the batter and caramel to get the desired marble effect.
  3. BAKE immediately following chart below. *Add 3-5 minutes for dark or non-stick pan. Brownie is done when toothpick inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean. COOL completely in pan on wire rack before cutting and serving. Baking tip: Sprinkle with sea salt for a hint of extra flavor.
  4. Alternative Instructions

    Prepare and bake brownie following directions above except using 1 egg, 1 tbsp water, and 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce. Reduce baking time 1-2 minutes.
