When I make cupcakes for the kids I use the mini cupcake pans. Theres less waste and the kids thinks it's "Cool" to have bite size cupcakes. No need to icing just put some sprinkles on them.

Placing your baking pan on a cookie sheet reduces the chance of you baked product from burning on the bottom. This can be done at the beginning of the baking process or half way through the baking process when you rotate your product to get an even bake from front to back.
