Recipe Description
Delicious moist family favorite for Christmas and St. Patrick's Day! Can be made in a bundt pan, 2 loaf pans or 5 mini loaf pans (GREAT gift size)!

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 Duncan Hines Yellow or Butter Cake Mix
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ cup whiskey
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup oil
  • 1 8 oz package chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cup whole walnuts (can be omitted)
  • GLAZE
  • 1 ½ cups whiskey
  • 1 ½ sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  1. With electric mixer: beat eggs, whiskey, milk and oil together. Beat in pudding and cake mix. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  2. Pour into greased and floured pan (1 bundt pan or 2 loaf pans, or 5 mini loaf pans)
  3. Bake 350 degrees for appox. 1 hour – when tooth pick comes out clean.
  4. Heat glaze in sauce pan till bubbly and cook for 2 minutes. Pour over cakes (while still warm), remove while a little warm, if it cools too much, it may stick.

I baked this cake for a social function, we were slightly late, but this cake flew off the dessert table before the early arrivals. I made my own version of a glaze, using conf. sugar, butter and just enough whiskey to make a drizzle glaze, it was delicious. Everyone wants the recipe from me.
