Chocolate Amaretto Mousse Cake

VERY, VERY GOOD!!!!! For all occasions.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 DH Fudge Cake Mix
  • 1 Greased Tiara Pan
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 c. water
  • 1/2 cup oil

Mousse:

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 8 oz pkg whipped topping (such as cool whip)
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  1. Grease pan. Add eggs, water and oil to cake mix.
  2. Blend on low speed til moistened. Mix and Med. speed for 2 mins.
  3. Place 3 1/2 cups batter into pan. Bake at 350 for 21-24 mins.
  4. Remove. Inverting cake onto rack. Cool.
  5. Mousse
  6. Melt over low heat chocolate chips and water.
  7. Stir constantly until smooth.
  8. Remove from heat. Stir in almond extract.
  9. Refrigerate 10 minutes until thickened but still creamy.
  10. In a bowl, fold chocolate mixture into whipped cream.
  11. Spread evenly into well of cooled cake.
  12. Top with sliced almonds on edges.

what is a tiara pan?

I think its one of those pans that are a half moon shape, like a tiara.

I bought a tiara pan. It is fluted and has a well in the center when inverted. A great place to put yummy toppings, etc. I am loking for more recipes maybe something lemon.
