My Pappy's Pecan Pie

Pecan pie.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 crust Flaky Pastry for pie
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup pecan halves or broken pecans
  1. Heat your oven to 375 degrees F. In a medium bowl beat all remaining ingredients except pecans with a wire whisk until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie crust.
  2. Cover edges of pastry with 2 to 3-inch strips of foil to prevent burning.
  3. Remove the foil for last 15 minutes of baking. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or really till center is set.
  4. Cool completely on a wire rack, about 2 hours.
  5. Served in my household with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, so good!
