It's like all of the ingredients of a chocolate chip cookie, except the chocolate, butter, and sugar melt together at the bottom while the eggs and flour form a crust at the top.
- 2 eggs
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of flour
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tbsp. bourbon
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Stir in remaining wet ingredients.
- Stir in remaining dry ingredients.
- Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake at 375° for 40 minutes, or until golden crust has formed on top.
- It's just as easy to make two of these pies at once, as chocolate chips usually come in bags of 2 cups each. When I do this, instead of measuring the bourbon, I use a whole miniature / airline bottle of bourbon per two pies. The alcohol evaporates during the baking process, but the chocolate will taste much richer.
