Berries with Custard Sauce

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Fresh berries
  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add a small amount to eggs. Return all to pan, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes or until the mixture reaches 160 degrees F.
  2. Remove from heat; stir in sour cream and vanilla . Set the saucepan in ice and stir the mixture for 5 minutes. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
  3. Seve over any fresh berries.
  4. This is really good when served with blueberries.
