A sauce for fruit
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- Fresh berries
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add a small amount to eggs. Return all to pan, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes or until the mixture reaches 160 degrees F.
- Remove from heat; stir in sour cream and vanilla . Set the saucepan in ice and stir the mixture for 5 minutes. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
- Seve over any fresh berries.
- This is really good when served with blueberries.
