This is an heirloom recipe passed from my husband's Grandmother - our family can trace this recipe back over 100 years and is still a family favorite today. It's a favorite breakfast food of my son and husband. Serve gravy over hot homemade biscuits or pancakes.
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3 Tbsp. plain flour
- 1/2 c. hot water
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- pinch of salt
- 2 c. milk
- In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, cocoa, salt and flour. Stir in hot water; cook over low heat until dissolved; stirring constantly. Add milk, cook until thickened; stirring constantly. Serve immediately over hot homemade biscuits or pancakes.

This is also a much beloved recipe from my childhood and I have made it many times for my children and grandchildren. Also called "homemade chocolate syrup".
