Sour Cream Banana Bread

Recipe Description
This is a super-moist banana bread with a kick! The sour cream adds such a nice, balancing flavor. My whole family loves this recipe.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1/2 cup butter (one stick)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup mashed banana (approx. 2-3 medium very ripe bananas)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (I use a little more)
  1. Cream the butter with the sugar
  2. Add the eggs and the vanilla.
  3. Add the dry ingredients and mix.
  4. Add the mashed bananas, sour cream, and nuts.
  5. Bake in a greased loaf pan at 350 for one hour.
  6. Check center for doneness after one hour. May need more time.

I made 2 batches of this recipe, one for my office and one for my husbands employee, and it was a BIG HIT! The bread was so moist and yummy. This is my new banana bread recipe from now on.
