Rainbow Cupcakes with Cotton Candy Frosting

Delightfully bright and vivid rainbow cupcake with sweet cotton candy frosting.

  • 1 packet of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Cotton Candy Flavor Mix
  • 1 can of Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter
  • 1 box Duncan Hines white cake mix
  • Food coloring (blue, red, green and yellow)
  • paper cupcake liners

Baking Instructions

  1. Pour pack of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Cotton Candy Flavor Mix into can of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter. Stir until evenly blended.
  2. Mix cake mix according to directions. Evenly divide batter into 4 separate bowls. Add food coloring separately to make a color of each bowl (blue, red, green and yellow) Make them vibrant!
  3. Spoon a little of each color in fourths in each cupcake liner.
  4. Bake according to box.
  5. Remove from oven and cool.
  6. Frost with cotton candy frosting.
  7. Sprinkle with colored sugar decors.

Subsitute oil with applesauce

If your trying to watch what you eat and are trying to cook and bake healthier substitute 1/2 or all your recipes oil portion for apple sauce I use the unsweetened applesauce. It taste great and it will keep your cakes moisty.



Use a cup of applesauce instead of oil in your recipes
