Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes

You will love these easy to make cinnamon roll cupcakes any time of the day, even for breakfast! They can be served like any cupcake or warmed up a little for a true cinnamon roll treat! All the flavor without the fork, plate, or mess.

Ingredients

  • Cupcake:
  • 1 Box of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 TBS cinnamon
  • Icing:
  • 1 can Duncan Hiens Cream Cheese icing
  • 1 pack Duncan Hiens Cinnamon Roll flavor pack

Baking Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line 2 muffin tins with 24 cupcake wrappers.
  2. 2. In large bowl mix yellow cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and sourcream.
  3. 3. In a seperate small bowl mix cinnamon and sugar.
  4. 4. Add 1 TBS cake batter to each cupcake paper and then 1/4 TBS cinnamon to each. Repeat this two more times each time alternating sides you place the cinnamon sugar on. You should have a total of 3 TBS cake batter and 3/4 cinnamon sugar in each cupcake paper.
  5. 5. Using a toothpick swirl each cupcake batter distributing the cinnamon sugar. Sprinkle a little more cinnamon sugar on top once swirled.
  6. 6. Bake at 350 for 18 minutes. Let cool completely.
  7. 7. Mix Duncan Hines Cinnamon Roll flavor pack into Duncan Hines Cream Cheese icing.
  8. 8. To create the cinnamon roll look on top, pipe icing using pipping bag and large round tip starting in the center then circling your way to the outter edge. Of course you can just swirl some on top too, they will be enjoyed just the same!

I use a box of the of instant choclolate pudding to the German Chocolate Cake mix and add additional water, able to make 3 layers and is so moist i also purchase the pre maid iceing add extra pecans and put in the microwave or on stove top to warm easier to spread, 2 cans for 3 layer cake
