I would like to make this recipe as a layer cake and decorate. It is firm enough to turn out and stack and decorate??

Red Decadent cupcakes for all occasions
- Recipe Description: Red decadent cupcakes for all occasions
- 1 package Red Velvet cake mix
- 5 eggs
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 packages (8 ounce each) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 container Cream Cheese Frosting
Preheat oven to 300:
- Measure 1 cup dry cake mix; set aside.
- CRUST: In a mixing bowl, stir remaining dry cake mix, 1 egg & oil. Press crust mixture into bottom of 24 cupcake pan/decorative liners.
- In a bowl, blend cream cheese and sugar; add 4 eggs and reserved cake mix; beat 2 minutes; gradually add milk, red food coloring and vanilla. Pour into cupcake crusts. Bake at 300: for 45-50 minutes, or until center is firm.
- Cool. Frost cupcakes and chill 1 hour. Add decorative picks, flowers or candies for any occ

Yes, Divide the crust and batter in half between two round cake pans. I sprayed mine with Non-Stick coating. I suggest you refrigerate before layering; the cream cheese in the cake will harden making it easier to stack and frost. It's amazing.
