a delicious cupcake flavored with rootbeer

Ingredients

  • french vanilla cake mix
  • root beer extract
  • ( mccormick)
  • vanilla icing 1 can

Baking Instructions

  1. follow the instructions to make the duncan hines cake mix.
  2. then add 2 teaspoons of the rootbeer extracts / concentrate.
  3. a little goes a long way so be careful.
  4. bake 15 to 20 minutes acorrding to how much you filled the cup.
  5. mix 2 teaspoons of rootbeer extract into icing and stir well.
  6. ice when cooled

I used powdered buttermilk (5 Tbs. added to 1 1/4 cup of water ) 1/3 cup of soffened REAL butter instead of oil, a 3.4 oz. box of instant pudding along with 1 Tsp. ovf vanilla to the box of Red Velvet cake mix. My pastor had requested one of these cakes and it was such a hit at our church dinner that I have been asked to make it for all the socials we have! WOW, IT BLEW EVERYONES SOCKS OFF!!!

When I make large cakes, such as half-sheet cakes, I put a small metal cup in the middle of the batter. Having the metal heat also from the middle helps the cake bake more even AND the cake bakes quicker without drying out the sides! Let me know if this works for you!
