I've done something similar just instead of brownie mix it used choc. cake mix. Most of my family (as weird as it may seem) don't like alot of frosting so I started putting the pb cups in the center instead and everyone seemed to LOVE it. They ask me to make them all the time at parties. I've also tried white cake with butterfinger bits and got the same kind of response from everyone. I think its an easy little "twist" on just your normal cupcakes.

I have been making these for years and they are just the best. They always sell out at fund raisers and disappear from dessert trays at events that I cater. I have also made them and substituted Rollo caramel candies for the peanut butter cups. I have also used the mini mint cups in place of the PB cups, if you like chocolate and mint you will love them!

I make these for social functions at church and they are a complete hit! EVERYONE loves them and they are gone within minutes.
(when I know that small children will be gobbling them, I remove the paper cups before serving.... saves the mess of paper)

What better combination could you ask for than a chocolate brownie and peanut butter? I make four batches at a time and it is never enough. The first time I made it I could not understand why I needed 30 mini peanut butter cups, there was only enough brownie mix for 14 brownie cups. It's a good thing I always keep extra boxes of the brownie mix at home.
