Whip up this easy to bake German Chocolate Cupcake recipe and indulge the creamy goodness! Guaranteed to be a family favorite.

Baking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place 24 paper liners in muffin pan(s).
  2. Combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl.
  3. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spoon batter evenly into prepared pan(s).
  4. Combine cream cheese, sugar and egg in medium bowl with wooden spoon until blended well. Stir in coconut and chips.
  5. Spoon 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture into center of each cupcake.
  6. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  7. Cool cupcakes completely on wire rack.
  8. Spread frosting on cupcakes and garnish, if desired, with additional coconut and chips.

I recently baked 2 of the decadent cake mixes. My oven is new and veryd accurate and I had to cook both cakes 10 to 15 minutes longer than the maximum.

For the past five years I have been making wedding cakes as a side line. Because of lack of time I have been using Duncan Hines "Moist Deluxe" mixes. However I have always added one additional egg to the recipe. Everybody who taste this say it is the best cake ever. They never know it comes from a box. Thanks for your great product.
