Seven-Layer Magic Cookie Bars

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
  • 1 cup (6 ounces ) butterscotch-flavored chips
  • 1 cup (6 ounces ) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 (325 for glass dish). In 13x9-inch baking pan, melt butter in oven.
  2. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients; press down firmly with fork.
  3. Bake 25 minutes or unyil lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars . Srore covered at room temperature.
  4. Substitute peanut-butter-flavored chips or white-chocolate chips for the butterscotch chips.

A holiday favorite in our house!! I use low-fat sweetened condensed milk and it tastes great, with less fat!!
