It is also ecellent with raspberry pie filling. I add a cup of mini chocolate chips to the batter once it is done mixing and it frost it like a cake. A crowd pleaser! It is great with spice cake and apple filling, and white cake with blueberry filling too!

i just want to know do you make the cake as the directions on the box or do you eliminate them and just use the 2 eggs the directions here are not real clear because if you make it like a cake you have 5 eggs total or if you dont these are almost brownies just tryin to figure this one out thanks

This makes a terrific BUNDT CAKE, too! I have made this dozens of times, and as a bundt cake it looks beautiful and gets raves everywhere I've taken it. I grease the pan, then dust it with a combo of flour/cocoa. Because the pan is deeper, it needs to bake 35-40 min, tho. I have also made this with yellow cake and canned apple pie filling, and add cinnamon in place of the almond extract. Then frost it with cream cheese frosting. It is very popular in the autumn months!

Very easy and delicious, especially if you love chocolate and cherries. My daughter thought it was a bit too much chocolate but she ate them anyway!

I have made this many times in the past. I got the recipe from a box of Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Cake mix. We love it. I’m allergic to nuts, so we leave them off. I have served it plain without the icing and added a dollop of whipped cream instead. Yum, Yum!!!!
