Cotton Candy Bars

These fun, unique bars get their blue color and cotton candy flavor from the wonderful Frosting Creations packets and their great texture and ease from a box of cake mix. White chocolate chips add a nice crunch, along with plenty of rainbow sprinkles! They can feed and please a crowd--kids and adults alike--reminiscent of a summertime carnival anytime of year.

Ingredients

  • 2 packets of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Cotton Candy Flavor Mix and 1 can of Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup sprinkles, plus more for garnish
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Baking Instructions

  1. Pour pack of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Cotton Candy Flavor Mix into can of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter. Stir until evenly blended. Set aside.
  2. 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9 inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  3. 2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, one cup of the sprinkles, one packet of the cotton candy Frosting Creations, the eggs and oil together with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Stir in the white chocolate chips.
  4. 3. Press mixture evenly into the prepared pan and bake until lightly golden and center is set, about 14-16 minutes. Cool completely in pan.
  5. 4. Frost cooled bars with the prepared frosting mixture. Place the frosted bars in the fridge to harden the icing, for about an hour. Cut into bars and serve.

Instant pudding vs regular cook/serve

Have a question--recipe for chocolate pudding pound cake requires box (3.4 oz) instant pudding I am unable to find instant pudding weighing that much. Regular cook & s erve -is 3.4 oz and sugar free/fat free weighs 2.1 oz.& this is the large box..In the past have used both one by mistake--would welcome suggestions.


Smooth cake

Smooth cake

A fast and easy way to get a cake smooth is using Viva paper towels. Take a piece and lightly press against the cake while rubbing your hand gently across it. Carefully peel it back and repeat all over the cake. I find this practical when decorating a cake and accidentally made a mark where it shouldn't be. This method is fast and super easy!
