Delicious but time consuming-- It took me some time to roll each one and coat it with the sugar/cinn. mixture.

This ARE delicious - I've also used Lemon Supreme cake mix and roll in powdered sugar instead of cinnamon sugar, also add a splash of lemon juice to mix. So very, very good!

These cookies are just wonderful. I made 2 batches one with the Yellow cake mix and the second one with a Chocolate Fudge cake mix. Boy, oh boy are they both good, but the chocodoodles (as I called them) are just awesome. I needed to bake cookies for bake sale and I only had one Yellow cake mix, so I thought I'd give the Chocolate Fudge mix a try and am I glad I did. I think it would work with almost any flavour of cake mix.
So glad I found this website last night or I wouldn't have had anything to take to the bake sale.

Does anyone know the nutritional values of these cookies?
Comment by: Gayle1234 (2 discussions) on Jun 21, 2011 at 11:40 PM
probably whatever the cake mix is, is the nutritional values on this plus a little sugar.

Comment by: Klbrowne (2 discussions) on Aug 15, 2011 at 05:24 PM

I think if you add a 1/2 teaspoon of Nutmeg to these snickerdoodles, it would make them taste like the old fashion cookies.
I haven't try it yet but will let you know how they come out.

For another cookie with different flavors and lower trans fat is 1 cake mix (any flavor, Lemon and strawberry are our faves.) 2 eggs and 1 regular size carton of cool whip, mix and roll in powder sugar bake -12 minutes at 350 degrees. yum.

I've been making cake mix cookies for years - they are the best recipe when cooking with children - easy to make and wonderfully delicious!! Thanks to my grandmother for sharing it with me when I was just a "young" baker.

Another great recipe with cake mix is: 1 cake mix (flavor of your choice), 1 8oz. cream cheese (softened) , 1 egg, 1 stick butter (room temperature), 1 tsp. vanilla. Cream the cream cheese and butter, beat in egg and vanilla, add cake mix. Refrigerate for about 2 hours. Roll batter into tablespoon sized balls and roll in confectioners sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Do not overbake - cookies will remain soft and gooey.
I have tried several cake mixes - white, chocolate, yellow, spice (excellent), red velvet (good for holidays) and the list goes on!

A true "snickerdoodle" always has cream of tartar, otherwise it is an cinnamon sugar cookie. Good either way, but my family loves a true snickerdoodle.

Even easier...I used your classic WHITE cake mix with 1/3 cup of oil and 2 eggs. Rolled into 1" balls, rolled them in cinnamon sugar and baked at 375 for 7 minutes. The have a crackly looking top and the high schoolers love them!!!!!
