Soft orange cookies, made with Duncan Hines Orange Supreme Cake Mix, are contrasted with the crunch of pecans. Even chocolate lovers will concede that these Orange Pecan Gems are the real deal.
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Orange Supreme Cake Mix
- 1 (8 oz) container vanilla low fat yogurt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1 cup pecan halves
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheets.
- Combine cake mix, yogurt, egg, butter and chopped pecans in large bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until blended. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Press pecan half onto center of each cookie.
- Bake at 350°F for 11 to 13 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on sheets. Remove to cooling racks. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.

I did not like these cookies. I found that the vanilla yogurt taste was too strong for me. Perhaps it was the brand of yogurt that I used in the recipe. My husband, on the other hand, liked them a lot. My cookies did not look like the ones pictured either. I was disappointed with this recipe.

These are just about the best cookies I have ever tasted. They keep beautifully in a tin container like Christmas cookies come in. I am making another batch to take to church. They are very easy to make, too.
