I made these for the first time today and not bad for a super quick moist cookie, however they are not sweet! which is great for those who dont like sweet but needed something else. great overall

Good and tasty, but definitely needs a bit of vanilla.

These are wonderfully delicious. I omitted the walnuts (ooey) and substituted coconut...I also, used 1/4 c of semi-sweet choco chips & 1/4 c butterscotch chips. Super YUMMY!

P.S. I used parchment paper instead of greasing the cookie sheet...easy clean-up!

I only used 1/4 cup oil didn't mix up very well, tasted a little salty but I think I can perfect. I added marshmallows and choc chips. Kid's loved them. I'll keep trying!

I made this recipe for my vegan friends and it turned out great. Replaced the eggs with 3/4 applesauce and 1/4 cup of vegetable oil, added 1tsp of baking powder to the mix. Rolled them into a bowl of powdered sugar and baked them.

These are terrific cookies! Old Mother Hubbard went to the pantry for something sweet and well I started off making a cake and ended up making some Great cookies. Thank you Lord! I added 1/2 c peanut butter and about 1 c sweetened coconut also added 1tsp coffe with 2 tbs hot water as one baker suggested and Wow! they are great I will store in an airtight container.

These cookies are great! I made them for a faculty breakfast (baked the night before) and they were a big hit. I did bake only 8 minutes and put them in a sealed Tupperware they were still soft and chewy!!!!

I made these cookies for a little party and they were really good. They were really good once they came out of the oven but, the next day they were really hard and crunchy and the cookies lost there great taste.

That sounds great. One of the best things about recipes is that you can change it up and make it your own. Let us know how they come out.

okay i have tried this recipe tons of times in the past (while making lots of variations) and i think today's is the best so far. prepared the recipe just like it said but instead of chocolate chips and nuts i put in cherry chocolate chips (as a little thing for valentine's day) with powdered sugar sprinkled on top and they turned out to be really good. sometimes i'll even try the recipe with Heath candy bar pieces. i love taking these cookies to office parties because they are always a hit.

My son's girl friend is allergic chocolate and some nuts. I used this recipe with a strawberry cake mix and white chocolate chips and omitted the nuts. What a hit!

Great recipe for when you don't have butter or other ingredients on hand. I added 1 tsp instant coffee mixed in 2 Tblsp hot water to batter and then rolled them in powdered sugar before baking. Borrowed that idea from a favorite cookie recipe....Worked well. Delicious!

yes it appears greasy until you bake them. Try the lemon cake mix and frost the cookies with the lemon frosting - Yummm

I liked these. They were really quick and easy. That's saying a lot for me because I'm not a good cook and I can usually find a way to mess up any and every recipe.

I just finished making a batch of theses cookies. I am not the best cookie baker in the world, but even for me, they came out great and they taste delicious. I baked them for the time suggested, and they are moist. I used pecans instead of walnuts and the recipe still came out o.k. Any suggestions for more easy cookie recipes that anyone has tried yet?

use a lemon cake mix, make the cookies like the ones you made - 2 eggs and 1/2 c. oil and frost with lemon frosting. They are a HIT - good luck

I have been making these cookies from cake mix for years and now my granddaughter just loves baking these for her Daddy. Of course he doesn't mind at all. They are so easy and fail proof.

I've used this as a basic cookie recipe, omitting the chocolate chip and nuts, for over 10 years now. For Turtle cookies, try wrapping chilled cookie dough around a Rolo candy to form a ball, then dip the top of ball in a mixture of toasted chopped nuts (pecans or almonds) and brown sugar. Bake as directed in recipe. For cookie sandwiches, roll dough into quarter sized balls, bake 8-9 minutes and cool. Beat 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and flavoring of your choice into 1 can of vanilla frosting and dump into a large baggie. Snip a corner of the baggie and frost one cookie. Top with a second cookie, gently pressing cookies together, to push frosting out to edge of sandwich. At Christmas, I flavor frosting with peppermint extract and roll edges of cookies in crushed peppermint candies. Try expresso powder, rum extract or coconut extract to flavor your frosting. You can also add any combination of dried cranberries, dried cherries, peanut butter morsels, white chocolate morsels, toffee chips or nuts to the basic dough.

Just tried these last night and they were wonderful. I had a hard time keeping my kids away from them....I don't like walnuts so I used pecans instead and they were easy to make and taste great. Thank you for the recipe.

This was my first experience using cake batter for cookies... was it ever awesome! Super fast and so easy. They are really soft and taste great! The only thing I did different was use peanut butter chips instead because that is what I had on hand.
