Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups cold water
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt
  3. Add to creamed mixture with milk.
  4. Stir until smooth.
  5. Stir in raisins.
  6. Spread in a greased 8-inch square baking pan.
  7. Combine brown sugar and cold water and pour over batter.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.
