this seems like a good option with just a normal cake mix! I'll have to try it - I never thought about making tres leches cake until I saw the mix though!

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Duncan Hines Tres Leches cake. I just bought it - but the website version says to use a one 8x8 inch pan (or 9 inch) and the box says a 9x13 inch pan - VERY different sizes! Also, is it better to let it sit over night, or just two hours, to soak the milk. The recipe says at least two hours, but if it's better over night, I'll make it now - depending on if anyone is out there to answer my questions! :) Thanks!!

You can use which pan you wish. The cake will be thinner if placed in a 9 x 13 inch pan. You can soak the milk mixture more than 2 hours. I have set it over night in the refrigerator without issues.

not sure what you got - but the tres leches cake mix I just bought is different than the one they have on the website - the box looks different, the number of eggs, etc - so they either have 2 versions or they changed from one to the other. I'd follow what your own box says - but I know you've already finished by now! So, how did you like it and do you have any tips? Cause I just saw this mix at the store & bought it cause I LOVE tres leches cake.
