Rainbow Cake

The Rainbow Cake seen many time on Pinterest has become the challenge I wanted to conquer for my daughter's 4th birthday party. 6 layers of cake all in shades of the rainbow. I had been excited to use the new Creations since I seen them at the grocery store and even more excited to use more then one mix in for my cake.

Ingredients

  • 3 packet of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Strawberry Shortcake Flavor Mix and3 can of Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter
  • 4 packet of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Cotton Candy Flavor Mix and4 can of Frosting Creations™ Frosting Starter
  • 3 boxes Duncan Hines White Cake
  • Eggs, Oil, and Water for directions of cake
  • Gel Food Coloring

Baking Instructions

  1. I decided to do 6 layers, so 3 boxes of mix each split in half. I am a former Pampered Chef Consultant so I broke out my favorite pieces. My mixing bowls worked perfect because the measuring on the side allowed me to use my mixer and then evenly distribute into two bowls to prep the color.

strawberry chocolate cake

To make a really moist and yummy cake just add about a half cup to the chocolate cake batter while mixing and bake til done. It adds a lot of yumminess to it and sooo easy too. Bake eat love


Parchment paper

Parchment paper

Parchment paper is the best friend a baker can have. Just line those cookie sheets with a sheet of parchment paper and place the cookies on the sheet the way you usually do. You will find that the cookies slip right off the paper, and you can re-use it to bake another batch. No more greasing the pan. King Arthur sells it already cut in sizes that fit a cookie pan, or you can buy it on a roll in the grocery store. Use it to line the bottom of cake pans, too. Wonderful stuff.
