Rainbow Cake

The Rainbow Cake seen many time on Pinterest has become the challenge I wanted to conquer for my daughter's 4th birthday party. 6 layers of cake all in shades of the rainbow. I had been excited to use the new Creations since I seen them at the grocery store and even more excited to use more then one mix in for my cake.

  • 3 boxes Duncan Hines White Cake

Baking Instructions

  1. I decided to do 6 layers, so 3 boxes of mix each split in half. I am a former Pampered Chef Consultant so I broke out my favorite pieces. My mixing bowls worked perfect because the measuring on the side allowed me to use my mixer and then evenly distribute into two bowls to prep the color.

Miracle of Salad Dressing

Miracle of Salad Dressing

I add Miracle whip salad dressing to every cake I make. It makes the cakes creamy and soft. The amount depends on the cake size, usually just 1/2 cup per cake mix does it. I learned this from my aunt Ethel when I was about 10 years old, I am 51 now. It is awesome with Chocolate Cakes and Carrot Cakes.

Prevent Doughy Cookies

Prevent Doughy Cookies

You should try chilling your dough until it's firm and cool to the touch, then work with it in small batches. Try baking a test cookie before the entire batch to ensure the consistency you're looking for.
