Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 Box Duncan Hines White Cake Mix
  • 1 1/3 Cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Large Egg Whites
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 tsp. Almond Extract
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Place cake mix, water, oil and egg whites in large mixing bowl and mix at low speed until moistened. Add vanilla and mix well; then add almond extract and mix at medium speed until well blended.
  3. Grease and flour metal pan. I use either a 9X13, a 9-inch round pan or a Wilton character pan. In the photo, I used a Wilton train pan to make something similar to "The Polar Express" for my granddaughter's birthday party.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake test is done.

This cake is awesome. I was in a hurry to find something to make with a white cake mix and discovered I did have almond flavoring. I made the cake in a 9x13 pan and iced it with a basic cream cheese icing with a cup of chopped pecans added. It was delicious and was a big hit with my family.

@pallen48 I did this recipe with a homemade cream cheese buttercream. I 8oz room temp cream cheese 1/2 cup of room temp butter then cream them. Slowly add 1lbs of powdered sugar and then 1tsp vanilla. IT worked so well with this Almond cake it was so delightful
