This cake is one of my most requested white cakes. It is always a hit and requested by everyone that tastes it.
- 1 Box Duncan Hines White Cake Mix
- 1 1/3 Cups Water
- 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 3 Large Egg Whites
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 3 tsp. Almond Extract
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place cake mix, water, oil and egg whites in large mixing bowl and mix at low speed until moistened. Add vanilla and mix well; then add almond extract and mix at medium speed until well blended.
- Grease and flour metal pan. I use either a 9X13, a 9-inch round pan or a Wilton character pan. In the photo, I used a Wilton train pan to make something similar to "The Polar Express" for my granddaughter's birthday party.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake test is done.

This cake is awesome. I was in a hurry to find something to make with a white cake mix and discovered I did have almond flavoring. I made the cake in a 9x13 pan and iced it with a basic cream cheese icing with a cup of chopped pecans added. It was delicious and was a big hit with my family.

@pallen48 I did this recipe with a homemade cream cheese buttercream. I 8oz room temp cream cheese 1/2 cup of room temp butter then cream them. Slowly add 1lbs of powdered sugar and then 1tsp vanilla. IT worked so well with this Almond cake it was so delightful
