Vanilla Pound Cake

Delicous loaf cake. Served in slices, delicious with fruit topping.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 1/2 cups butter/margerine (soft)
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • Confectioners sugar to garnish
  1. Grease large loaf pan. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. Beat butter and sugar with mixer on low speed to blend, when blended advance to high speed.
  3. Beat on high for about 5 minutes until light and airy.
  4. Reduce speed to medium to add eggs on at a time.
  5. After eggs, add vanilla and salt.
  6. Scrape bowl, return to high speed for 3 more minutes.
  7. Carefully stir in flour with whisk.
  8. Spoon batter into pan. Bake for about 1 hour, check using toothpick test.
  9. Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar.
  10. You may also use a bundt pan for this.
