This is a white cake mix that is flavored with cotton candy flavoring and decorated according to the child's birthday motif.
Great as cupcakes too.
- I duncan hines white cake mix - follow ingreditents at the back of the box
- 3 egg whites
- 1 1/3 C. water
- 1 -2 containers of Duncan hines white vanilla frosting
- 1 tsp. of cotton candy flavoring - can be bought in candy making supply stores
- food coloring of choice - pastel shades
- Mix the cake mix according to the insturctions at the back of the box.
- Add 1 1/2 tsp. cotton candy flavoring
- Pour the cake mix into a round 8 or 10 inch Aluminum pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in 350 degree pre-heated oven for 30-35 minutes or until its done.
- Allow cake to cool before icing - I usually cover the cake and freeze it for a few hours or even overnight.
Assmble the cake:
- Place the cake in the cake plate of choice
- Prepare the icing by removing the icing from the container into a bowl
- Add 1-2 tsp. of cotton candy flavoring
- Add a few drops of food coloring of choice
- Blend it all by using a rubber spatula
- Spread it evenly all over the cake
- Decorate with pastel colored sprinkles / motif decors

I would like to make this cake but I've been told tht using a pound cake is better if you are going to stack your cakes. Is it ok to substitute the vanilla cake for pound cake? heeeeeelp :/
