Easy Caramel Apple Cake

Easy 3 ingredient cake that is always popular at potlucks. I found it in an old church cookbook. You can vary the cake mix and pie filling to suit your taste. IE: Yellow cake mix with peach pie filling; white cake with blackberry pie filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Caramel Cake Mix
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature(this increases the volume)
  • 1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling - use kitchen shears to coarsely chop apples while still in can

Baking Instructions

  1. 1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. 2.) Mix together cake mix, eggs and pie filling using a wooden spoon, until moistened and
  3. all ingredients are incorporated.
  4. 3.) Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  5. 4.) Bake 30 - 35 minutes or until done.
  6. 5.) Ice with Duncan Hines Caramel icing or your favorite buttercream.

Try adding in about a tbls. of sour cream to your cake batter or try some cinnamon. Its so good and you can really taste the difference

wrap a hot cake in plastic wrap and refrigerate or freeze until cold enough to frost.. You will see that your cakes are super moist... I do this everytime I bake cakes...
