What do you get when you cross a German Chocolate Cake with Cheesecake? YUMNESS!

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 Duncan Hines German Chocolate cake mix (or your favorite chocolate variety)
  • 1 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • optional: 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray bottom and sides of 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly over bottom of pan.
  3. Combine cake mix, water, oil, eggs and flavorings. Pour evenly over ingredients in pan.
  4. Combine cream cheese and butter until well combined, slowly add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
  5. Drop large spoonfuls evenly over cake batter.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes.
  7. IMPORTANT: Toothpick will not come out clean.
