Recipe Description
Deep chocolate cake with cream-cheese cloud frosting.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Vanilla Frosting
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 12 oz. Cool Whip
  1. Bake cake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes in a sheet pan or two 8-inch or 9-inch pans.
  2. Mix frosting, cream cheese, and Cool Whip until thick and smooth. Spread over cooled cake.
  3. Drizzle melted chocolate or chocolate syrup over frosted cake.
  4. 1 box Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix (your favorite) in large bowl.
  5. 3 eggs.
  6. 1 stick melted in microwave butter or margarine.
  7. 1/2 cup water.
  8. Mix until batter is thick and smooth.
  9. Bake in sheet pan cupcakes or pan of choice.
  10. I use sheet pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, depending on oven.
  11. Cool cake completely.
  12. Frosting 1 can Duncan Hines Vanilla or you may use butter cream or cream cheese.
  13. 1 (8oz.) softened cream cheese.
  14. 1 (12oz.) Cool-Whip slightly softened.
  15. Combine above in large bowl until thick and creamy.
  16. Spread over cooled cake.
  17. May drizzle with melted chocolate.
  18. Enjoy!
  19. Use slightly less water and replace margarine for oil. The cake will be moister.
