Recipe Description
Duncan Hines Classic White Cake Mix flavored with berries for a Pink and Blue cake.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 1 box of Duncan Hines Classic White cake mix
  • 3 egg whites or 3/4 cup sub.
  • 1 /3 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup blueberries (you may use fresh, frozen, or pie filling)
  • 1 cup strawberries (you may use fresh, frozen or preserves)
  • 1 can Duncan Hines Classic Vanilla frosting
  • 2 cups additional sliced mixed berries
  • 1 (8oz.) Cool-Whip
  1. Mix cake mix, oil and water.
  2. Batter will be thick , place 1/2 in seperate bowl.
  3. Puree berries in blender or food processor.
  4. Puree each separately.
  5. Add blueberry puree to 1 bowl mix until combined and blue.
  6. Add strawberry puree to 2nd bowl mix until combined and pink.
  7. Pour each mix into 8 or 9-inch cake pans.
  8. Bake in 350 F pre-heated oven for 30-35 minutes.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Mix frosting and Cool-Whip until smooth and fluffy.
  11. Place 1 layer on plate frost with 1/3 frosting top with sliced mixed berries.
  12. Place 2nd layer cake on top, frost cake completely.
  13. Garnish with berries.
  14. Enjoy!
  15. Use berries of choice. An excellent cake for parties, Holidays or Baby Shower. You may use preserves.

It sounds like a great summer recipe. I think I will try it as a marble cake.
