Delectable, moist, full of chocolate & Kahlua flavor! Very easy to make! You'll never know that it's lower in fat than most similar cakes. Glaze is to die for !!!
Cake:
- 1box devil's food cake mix
- 1box pudding mix, instant, chocolate (small box)
- 1/2cup applesauce
- 1/2cup Kahlua
- 1/4cup coffee, brewed, strong
- 1cup sour cream, lo-fat
- 4 eggs
- 1cup chocolate chips, mini size (optional)
Glaze:
- 4Tbsp butter
- 2Tbsp Kahlua
- 3/4cup powdered sugar
- For the cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, applesauce, Kahlua, coffee, sour cream, and eggs.
- Mix with electric mixer on low to moisten ingredients and scrape bowl & beaters.
- Mix on medium speed for 2-3 minutes.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake 40-45 minutes in Bundt pan sprayed with baking non-stick cooking spray.
- (Note: Regular non-stick cooking spray may make the cake stick. Use baking non-stick cooking spray for easy removal.)
- Cool for 10-15 minutes, then remove from pan and continue cooling on a wire rack.
- When cool, move carefully to serving plate.
- For the glaze: In a small saucepan, melt butter, add Kahlua, then powdered sugar.
- Whisk to dissolve. When cake has cooled, top with glaze. Enjoy!
