This banana cake was made for my brother's 44th B-Day. Its a 3 layer Cake. You can do a 2 layer cake by using 1 box. Just cut the cake in half. This recipe is for a 3 layer cake using an entire cake as a layer.
- 3 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Devil's Food Cake Mix
- 9 large eggs
- 4 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of banana extract
- 3 - 9 in round cake pans greased
- 1 tub of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting
- FILLING
- 3 pkg banana cream instant pudding and pie filling
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup whipping cream
- For cake, combine cake mix, eggs, milk, oil & extract in large bowl.
- Beat at low speed with electric mixer until moistened.
- Once the batter has been mixed fold in the mashed bananas
- Pour into pans. Its okay if you see chunks of the banana in the batter.
- Bake at 350 ºF for 35 to 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled you can now add the filling between each layer
- After that is done you can know cover the cake with chocolate frosting and decorate as you like.
- For topping, combine pudding mix and milk in large bowl. Stir until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
