Chocolate Banana Chunk Cake

Recipe Description
This banana cake was made for my brother's 44th B-Day. Its a 3 layer Cake. You can do a 2 layer cake by using 1 box. Just cut the cake in half. This recipe is for a 3 layer cake using an entire cake as a layer.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  • 3 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • 9 large eggs
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of banana extract
  • 3 - 9 in round cake pans greased
  • 1 tub of Duncan Hines chocolate frosting
  • FILLING
  • 3 pkg banana cream instant pudding and pie filling
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  1. For cake, combine cake mix, eggs, milk, oil & extract in large bowl.
  2. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until moistened.
  3. Once the batter has been mixed fold in the mashed bananas
  4. Pour into pans. Its okay if you see chunks of the banana in the batter.
  5. Bake at 350 ºF for 35 to 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely.
  7. Once the cakes are completely cooled you can now add the filling between each layer
  8. After that is done you can know cover the cake with chocolate frosting and decorate as you like.
  9. For topping, combine pudding mix and milk in large bowl. Stir until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.
  10. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
