This cake is as delicious as it looks and sounds.

- 1/2 C butter or margarine
- 1/4 C whipping cream
- 1 c packed brown sugar
- 1/2 C chopped pecans
- 2 large cooking apples (about 21/3 C)
- 1box super moist yellow cake mix
- 1 1/4 C water
- 1/3 c vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 tsp apple pie spice
- topping
- 2/3 C white frosting (from 12 oz container)
- 1/2 C frozen whipped topping
- Caramel topping, if desired
- 1 Heat oven to 350 degrees Combine butter, whipping cream and brown sugar in saucepan and heat until butter is melted.
- Pour into a 13x9 inch pan.Sprinkle with pecans: top with sliced apples.
- 2 In large bowl mix cake mix, oil, eggs, and pie spice together until moistened.
- Carefully spoon batter over apple mixture.
- 3 Bake 40 to45 min Cool in pan 10 min
