Delicious chocolate cake
- 1 box Duncan Hines Devil Food Cake Mix
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 can (16 oz.) cherry pie filling
- 1 c. sugar
- 5 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/3 c. milk
- 6 oz. semisweet chocolate bits
- Mix first four ingredients well.
- Bake in 9'x13' greased and floured pan at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
- Bring to a boil the next three ingredients
- Stir occasionally.
- Let boil 1 minute.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in 6 ounces semisweet bits.
- Stir until melted
- Pour over cake.

Loved this cake - very moist and not too sweet although I opted to add a shiny chocolate glaze vs. the recommended in the recipe. I also made mine in a bundt pan - took about 35 minutes to bake at the recommended temperature.
