This is one of my own. I love black forest cake but it takes way too long with 3 children to make. so this is quick, easy and so yummy.

Ingredients

  • Cake
  • 1 box of duncan hines dark chocolate fudge
  • 1 can of cherry pie filling 21ozs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • Chocolate topping
  • 1/2 heavy cream
  • 8 ozs sweet bakers chocolate
  • 1 can cherry pie filling 21ozs
  • 1 tub whipped topping

Baking Instructions

  1. Greese a 13x9 pan preheat oven to 350
  2. In a large bowl mix together the cake mix, milk, oil, egg and 1 can cherry filling mix by hand for 2 mintues. (If you use mixer it will break down the cherrys) pour into pan bake for 30 to 35 mintues.
  3. Chocolate topping
  4. in a small sauce pan mix together the sweet chocolate and 1/2 cup heavy cream cook on low until chocolate is melted cool.
  5. When cake is cool spread chocolate over cake after that spread the last can of cherry filling over the chocolate then the whipped topping. Top with fresh cherrys and enjoy>

For years I have used your white frosting for many baking projects by coloring or flavoring it. My favorite is to use a "jello" packet to flavor and color the frosting. I have used up to four different flavors with one can. Just remember to add only 1 packet per can, so if you want 2 colors/flavors use half packet, 4 colors/flavors 1/4 packet to the divided frosting. The frosting flavors are only limited to your imagination.
