Yellow Pound Cake is the best cake for active imaginations. Top Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake Mix with a glaze. Drizzle fruit or chocolate sauces over top. Or garnish with fresh fruit and confectioner's sugar. Anything you can imagine.
Cake:
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Classic Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 (3.4 oz) pkg vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Glaze:
- Preheat oven to 350 ºF. Grease and flour 10-inch Bundt® pan or tube pan.
- Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, and oil in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Pour into pan.
- Bake at 350 ºF for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 25 minutes. Invert onto heat resistant serving plate. Cool completely.
- For glaze, place frosting in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power for 10 to 15 seconds. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over cake.

I have a pound cake recipe that call for two boxes of burrer cake mix as well as 1 cup of self rising flour and 8 eggs. Is that too much for one cake? It also calls for 2 cups of milk and a box of dream whip powdwe.

That recipe sounds a little 1962. I would search this site for an updated recipe that is a lot healthier for you.

Used to be the birthday cake person in my big family. After a while people wanted new flavors. My standards were the devil's food and yellow pound cake because, as other say, it's best for sculpting. Ever try pistachio pudding in the yellow pound cake recipe? it's flavor is mild and provides just enough of a change to keep eveyone happy! The green color gives kids a kick!

Yes! We love pistachio cake. My kids love the yellow cake mix with the banana cream pudding in it with cream cheese frosting.

I never use another brand when I'm making changes such as on this site (except one from here with an angel food mix I'd had on hand for awhile, am sure I would have liked DH better). There is one other brand of yellow cake I like as well or better but only when making the cake straight from the box. I also like white bakery cake and wish I knew how to make it. I'm sure they use a commercial mix for it.

debri, as long as the cakes are wrapped tightly in foil, they will stay fresh. I have had to do this numerous times. I have my father-in-law addicted to the yellow bundt cake

Everyone in my family loves this recipe! I accidentally bought sugarfree instant pudding instead of the regular once and now I substitute it every time. It is not too sweet and super moist and holds up for all of my decorated cakes too.
