instead of using the frosting why not use whip topping with strawberries? i think it would be just as good.

I always whip the can of rosting in my mixer till it is light and fluffy. It is not as sweet plus very easy to spread. I would add some cherrry juice to a can of vanilla and put a half of cherry on top....

Would I be able to add juice from fresh strawberries to the frosting creations for my cake?

I made the strawberry champagne cakes for Easter, trying to replicate the picture exactly. It can't be done with just one can of frosting. I hardly put ANYTHING in the middle and still only had enough left to pipe 10 of the remaining cakes. The cake was nice, will try this tecnique again, but not with the frosting creations. It was much too gooey for me - I normally like a nice fluffy buttercream and only tried this because DH sent me a sample. While the kids liked the strawberry flavor just fine, the adults found it to unnatural - I think someone said "Strawberry Kwik". My advice is if you like this look and want to impress (and it does) make this recipe as described but with a homemade buttercream with some strawberry preserves whipped in instead of some of the liquid.

I agree, I personally, think that the flavor packets are not strong enough. I figured out that if I use 3 pks of the flavor to one can of the base frosting, it SO much better. I also placed the frosting in the frig for about 30 mins to make it a little stiffer.

I tried making the strawberry champagne cakes, I agree one can of the creations is not enough and I would not use champagne again, the cake did not taste good. My cake also did not come out anything like the picture.
