It really helps to add some lemon juice to it and it will make it melt in your mouth. Tried it with my family and we finished the entire cake before dinner!

I made the Lemon Supreme cake last night and added 1/4 c of lemon zest. Perfect cake, VERY moist (as advertised) and absolutely delicious. Butter cream frosting for added richness. -Sloane

I'm confused. Looks like there are 3 layers. do you put pudding AND frosting between each layer? And how about strawberries in the pudding? anyone try that yet? Was just curious.

You are correct! There should be four layers, if you slice each baked layers in half. Maybe they messed one up.

Hey there Tin-Tin..just add the package of pudding/pie filling, the 1/2cup of water and the 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a bowl and place in fridge to chill a bit. After the cake has baked and cooled, you will be spreading the lemon mixture between the layers.

I dont get the pudding part, do you add just water and lemon juice or do you also add what the pudding instructions ask to be put in along with the water and lemon juice

That sounds so good. I can't wait to try i. I love your idea of adding strawberry preserves instead of the pudding and the lemon buttercream icing thanks for submitting your tip!

I don't understand how someone can say the instructions are deplorable or not clear. It clearly states: prepare, bake and cool cake according to package directions. Very good recipe - will definitely make again.

Has anyone ever addd fresh blueberries to the mix? I love lemon and blueberries. Any suggestions or should I just go for it and experiment?

Just make sure to coat blueberries with a little flour or they will settle at the bottom while baking.

I knocked off one star for one reason, and one reason only - the instructions are deplorable! I was literally just adding what is listed above, rather than prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box, THEN adding the pudding mix, extra water and lemon juice. Other than that, the recipe is great! I chose to make cup cakes instead of cake, frosting with whipped vanilla frosting that I added fresh lemon juice and some grated lemon. They were moist and delicious and a hit at the baby shower. I just wish the instructions were a bit clearer.

I agree, recipe should have said to prepare according to pkg instructions on box plus add the pudding, water, and lemon juice...I got confused to...
