Moist Duncan Hines Banana Supreme Cake Mix with walnuts and coconut delivers a tropical island flavor to your very own kitchen with this Jamaican Banana Cake.
Cake:
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Banana Supreme Cake Mix
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Topping:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup butter flavored shortening
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1/3 cup walnuts
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
- For cake, prepare according to package directions. Stir 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts. Pour into pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 33 to 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- For topping, set oven to broil. Combine brown sugar, shortening and milk in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 2 minutes, or until shortening melts. Stir in coconut and 1/3 cup walnuts. Spread over warm cake. Broil 4 inches from heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden. Cool completely.

I baked this cake resently, It taste like Banana Nut Bread but it a good cake once you find the cake mix, now that the HARD PART. If you can find the cake mix try it its pretty good.

Could not find banana cake mix. Made it with orange cake mix was great.
