Recipe Description
Choose your favorite Duncan Hines cake flavor and bake it up with any flavor additions you like. Then make this Drum Layer Cake a fun project by decorating it with your kids for a special treat or for a holiday activity.

Ingredients Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Prepare, bake and cool cake according to package directions.
  3. To assemble, place half the frosting in small bowl. Tint with green food coloring; set aside. Place one cake layer on serving plate. Spread with half of untinted frosting. Top with second cake layer. Spread green frosting on sides of cake. Spread remaining untinted frosting on top of cake. Arrange pretzel sticks and candy-coated chocolates on sides of cake as shown in photograph. Place lollipops on top of cake for 'drumsticks'.

I am definitely not a baker; but I decided to try this for my grandson's 7th birthday party. Was very easy and turned out exactly like the photo. The kids were thrilled.
