Oh - I just realized that I didn't use the Pineapple cake mix, I used regular Duncan Hines Yellow Cake mix. Hmmmm, maybe that's why the recipe says not to use the pineapple juice. If you use the Pineapple Cake mix it's, like, too much pineapple??

OK - I made the cake and it is excellent! Very yummy!! Very easy to make. And I did use the pineapple juice for the water. It turned out fine. Maybe next time I'll try it with water and see if there's a difference.

Oh good god! it takes seconds to find a recipe on the internet!! Not one of you is saying anything about this freakin' recipe!! I want to make it.....is this the original recipe that was on the box?? Is it a good recipe?? This is supposed to be a forum about recipes, not a place to complain about change and the internet taking over!

I bake proffesionally. I only ever used Duncan Hines as I was taught in class to do over 30 years ago. I usually only bake an upside down pineapple cake when I serve ham, so 2-3 times a year. I was very disappointed in having to get on the computer to get the recipe. Duncan Hines needs to remember two things.....not everyone has access to the computer, and if it ain't broke don't fix it!

I also just got ready to make this cake and assumed the recipe was on the box. It has cut into my baking time to have to get on here and look this up. Next time I will look at the box and buy the brand that includes a recipe.

Duncan Hines removed the recipes along time ago - I miss them but the truth is I've learned to look for cake mix variations before I go to the store, it wasn't easy but I'm pretty smart so I could be retrained. The upside is that I have a great source for new favorites and at work I'm the got to for cakes, all thanks to Duncan Hines... Twenty cakes at work a year and never a duplicate and always a happy birthday person! Of course over the last year or so I've also learned to keep cake making basics in my microscopic pantry. Cherry, pineapple, brown sugar, vanilla, instant pudding, cherry pie filling - yeah. I keep it on hand at all times. Remember, change is good for the brain cells. LOL

I was also disappointed about not having the recipe on the box. The picture on the front of the box should be what is in the box and not a variation. Hopefully Duncan Hines will consider the comments. I also am not a fan of having to wade through a language other than English. Maybe the foreign translations could be posted on the website and not on the box. No disrespect intended to other nationalities but let's reserve the packaging to English.

After reading some of these comments I just wanted to say...I was a bit disappointed that the recipe was not on the box. LOL, my first thought was the same as I have been below. Why a second language? This is America and our primary speech is English. I work, I provide for my family and I want to enjoy the simple things in life, like the standard recipe for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake on a Pineapple Cake Mix!! Hello??

I was disappointed as well. I bought the mix and then looked for the other things to buy while I was in the store. To my surprise, NO RECIPE! II I had to come home to lookm

AMEN!! People need to LEARN our language instead of Americans having to accommodate to their needs!

The "genius" who took the recipe off the box probably got a promotion because the result is that tons of traffic is driven to the website. My iPad was sitting on the table and was on so it was easy for me to get the recipe BUT it still ticked me off and made me feel manipulated. The photo implies that the recipe is included. I didn't expect it to be a kit, but I did expect the recipe to bend on the box. I think that the lack of it engenders a lot of I'll will especially since it has been on the box for ever.

I agree - My husband rarely bakes and depended on the recipe which is why this brand was the ONLY reason it was preferred over others! I "knew" the recipe but wanted to be sure. This company would have loyalty if the recipe was on the box, in the box - something!

The "genius" that took the recipe off the box has made every one of us get online and go to the Duncan Hines website to look it up! Not to mention getting us to provide our name, email, etc. so that we can create an account and add our comments. This makes me want to buy another brand just for the principal of the matter! Just for the record, it would only take up a few lines of space on the box to note a few tips, like that we need 1 stick of butter + 1 cup of brown sugar; and need to bake it for 50 minutes. Having at least that on the box would be great, Mr. Hines.

I too found it annoying to have to stop in the middle of making the cake to come and verify how much sugar, how long to cook, etc. I have been making this recipe off the box for years and love it. I just made it for a birthday party and it is worthy.
BUT - I have always used the pineapple juice as part of the water requirement. I wonder why they say not to. Everyone loves my version.

Bought a box yesterday and was surprised to see the upside down cake recipe missing. Had to come to the website to refresh my memory:) Love the pineapple supreme mix.

I'm another customer who wants the recipe on the box. The first time I bought the cake mix, I thought there would be pineapple and brown sugar in it too. Had to make a trip back to the store. Lately I've been using the yellow cake mix. Also tried the DH yellow pound cake recipe. Yum!
