Made this in three layers, but for frosting only used cream cheese frosting. Good reviews from all the family.

I made this cake for the first time today and it was a HIT !! I made it into a 10in round, the recipe fit if perfectly. the only changes I made was that I started w/ a layer of the raspberry jam on the bottom half of the cake, then used the entire container of the cream cheese icing, followed by another layer of the raspberry jam, THEN put the top half of cake on.... I will definitely save this recipe to use again...

I made this cake in 3 layers. It took 18 mins to bake. I used raspberry jam(spread on the bottom of top 2 layers) and home made cream cheese frosting (white inside and chocolate cream cheese top and sides). I was told it was the best cake ever and another friend made me promise to make her one for her birthday, considering that her parents were our city's top cake makers for 40 years that is quite a compliment.

I am making this cake for the 5th time. My Dad insists on having it every year for his brithday. Absolutely delicious combination of our favorite flavors! This picture doesn't show the cream cheese frosting/sour cream sauce in the top center of the cake. But when you add that to the top of the chocolate frosted cake and decorate with some raspberries on top and around the sides, it is really beautiful before you slice it.
