The same pecan streusel that you love about our popular Sock-It-To-Me Cake, this time fills a Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Fudge Cake. Try them both!
- 1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Butter Recipe Fudge Cake Mix
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 2 tsp packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup Duncan Hines® Creamy Home-Style Classic Vanilla Frosting
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan.
- Combine 2 tablespoons cake mix, pecans and brown sugar in medium bowl for streusel filling . Set aside.
- Combine remaining cake mix, eggs, sour cream , oil, water and granulated sugar in large bowl. Beat at low speed with electric mixer until moistened. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour two-thirds of batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with streusel filling. Spoon remaining batter evenly over filling.
- Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 25 minutes. Invert onto cooling rack. Cool completely. Place frosting in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power 10-15 seconds. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over cake.

Made this cake exactly by the instructions. No one at work cared for it, we threw it away. I have made the regular sock it to me cake for over 30 years and there is never a crumb left. Would not recommend this recipe.

I just made this cake for a Christmas party tomorrow. I experimented and instead of using the pecan streusel filling, I used crushed up soft peppermint sticks. I plan on using a white flowing icing on top and will put the crushed peppermint sticks on it also. I hope it comes out good!

Wish I weren't wheat sensitive. But I can make it for my husband and grandkids and at least smell the chocolate.
