This has been a family favorite since I was a teen. I now make it for my family but I use a spice cake recipe and fresh apples. It is a great dessert but with these two changes really makes the dessert pop! LOL Its a fast and simple dessert to make and one that is good hot or cool. Enjoy! dj

Forgot to rate this, so I'll start again. It is wonderful. It was my dad's favorite and I lost it in one of my moves. When I made it before, I t called for plainsliced apples and cinnamon and sugar. It was a big hit with the entire family.

I first found this recipe in 1971. It called for just plain sliced apples with sugarand cimmamon istead of the canned apples then. It was my Dad's favorite. I have searched everywhere and was so glad to find this site and the recipe.
