Tips

Oven light

Oven light

My friend kept having trouble with an unlevel oven. The repairman showed her with a level that there was no problem with the oven. She asked me and I told her to turn off the oven light if she was keeping it on. Yes, she was, so she turned it off unless she was just checking. Her cakes after that did not have one side higher than the other. The light makes a difference in degrees on the side it is on.

Piping bags

Piping bags

I reuse all the bags from cereal, frozen foods, Nilla wafers, cake mixes, anything sturdy enough to hold frosting or batter. I just wash inside and out and air dry. They really do come in handy and are a little more sturdy than the ziplock sandwich baggie. I hope you all can use this tip! I like the fact that i am reusing something that would just go to waste!
