These have got to be one of my favorites. They always go quickly on a dessert tray.
Double Decker Confetti Brownies:
- 3/4 Cup Butter or margarine (1 1/2 sticks)
- 1 Cup granulated sugar
- 1 Cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3 Large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose flour, divided
- 2 1/2 tsp baking POWDER
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa powder
- 1 TBSP butter or margarine, melted
- 1 Cup M&M's semi-sweet baking bits, divided
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F if using glass, dark or coated pan). Lightly grease 13x9x2 inch baking pan; set aside.
- In a large bowl cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In a medium bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups flour, baking POWDER and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Divide batter in HALF. Blend together the melted butter and the cocoa powder; stir into one HALF of the dough.
- Spread cocoa dough evenly into prepared pan. Stir remaining 1/4 CUP flour and 1/2 Cup baking bits into remaining dough; spread evenly over cocoa dough in baking pan.
- Sprinkle top with remaining M&M baking bits.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 - 30 minutes or until edges begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack, before cutting into bars.
- Store in tightly covered container.
