I didn't think these brownies could get any better, but adding the new Flavor Mixes into my batter made a world of difference. These brownies are very unique in the sense that they're made with Duncin Hines German Chocolate cake mix. This is my most requested recipe at any social gathering and they're really quick and easy to make.
- 1 box (18.5 Ounce) Duncan Hines German Chocolate Cake Mix
- 1 packet of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Mocha Flavor Mix
- 1 cup Finely Chopped Pecans or Walnuts
- 1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
- 1/2 cup Evaporated Milk (additional)
- 1/2 cup Butter, Melted
- 60 whole Caramels, Unwrapped
- 1 packet of Duncan Hines® Frosting Creations™ Caramel Flavor Mix
- 1/2 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, Mocha Flavor Mix, chopped pecans, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and melted butter. Stir together until totally combined. Mixture will be very thick.
- Press half the mixture into a well-greased 9 x 9 inch square baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven and set aside.
- In a double boiler, melt caramels with additional 1/2 cup evaporated milk. When melted and combined, take off heat and mix in Caramel Flavor Mix and pour over brownie base. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel.
- Turn out remaining brownie dough on work surface. Press it into a large square a little smaller than your pan. Use a spatula to remove it from the surface, then set it on top of the caramel and chocolate chips.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove pan and allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for several hours.
- Enjoy!

These are a favorite of my families also! We call them yummy bars. Never used the mocha flavor packet though. I will have to try it that way next time
